What is Digital Signature?

A Digital Signature Certificate, like hand written signature, establishes the identity of the sender filing the documents through internet which sender can not revoke or deny. Accordingly, Digital Signature Certificate is a digital equivalent of a hand written signature which has an extra data attached electronically to any message or a document.

Digital Signature also ensures that no alterations are made to the data once the document has been digitally signed. A DSC is normally valid for 1 or 2 years, after which it can be renewed.

A Digital Signature is a method of verifying the authenticity of an electronic document.

Digital signatures are going to play an important role in our lives with the gradual electronization of records and documents. The IT Act has given legal recognition to digital signature meaning, thereby, that legally it has the same value as handwritten or signed signatures affixed to a document for its verification.

The Information Technology Act, 2000 provides the required legal sanctity to the digital signatures based on asymmetric cryptosystems. The digital signatures are now accepted at par with handwritten signatures and the electronic documents that have been digitally signed are treated at par with paper documents.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED & TO BE SUBMITTED BY THE APPLICANT :

  • Download Class 2 Digital Signature Application Form : Class 2 DSC Application Forms.
  • Please Attach following Documents :

    Note : (1) Attestation to be done by gazzetted officer or public notary or CA or CS or ICWA or Any Bank Managers.

    • Passport size photograph or
    • Passport(Not Expired) or
    • Voter’s ID or
    • PAN Card or
    • Driver’s License(Not Expired) or
    • Ration Card.
    • Bank Account Details(within latest 3 months).
    • Any Other (Accompanied with attested photocopy of photo ID like PAN card, etc) .
    • Latest Utility Bill (Telephone Bill / Mobile Bill / Electricity Bill / LIC Receipt / Water Bill) -Allow Only before three months).

Note : To obtain PAN Based Digital Signature , Photocopy of PAN Card is mandatory.

Class 3 Digital Signature Certificates

Class-3 Certificates are issued to individuals, companies and government organizations. They can be used both for personal and commercial purposes. They are typically used for electronic commerce applications such as electronic banking, electronic data interchange (EDI), and membership-based on-line services, where security is a major concern.

The level of trust created by the Digital Certificate is based on the authentication procedures used by the CA to verify your identity and the service guarantees offered by the CA to back up that authentication.

How to obtain Class 3 Digital Signature Certificates:

  • Download/Obtain the Class 3 Digital Signature Application form for Individuals or Organizations from us.
  • Read the application form carefully and fill the form with complete and correct information.
  • Enclose the Required Supportive documents which are described in application form.

DGFT means Directorate General of Foreign Trade.

DGFT India-Director General of Foreign Trade provides a set of guidelines and framework for importers and exporters wanting to trade in India. DGFT IEC stands for Importer Exporter Code issued by DGFT. Any bonafide person/ company starting a venture for International trade requires DGFT IEC. The guidelines are set by DGFT India.

What is (n)Exim?

(n)Exim is a special kind of Digital Signature Certificate exclusively for the EXIM Community of India. It is issued to Organizations/ People who have obtained a valid IEC Code. It is mandatory to have a (n)eXIM to able to communicate with DGFT online.
